P.C.M. stands for PHYSICS, CHEMISTRY, and MATHEMATICS. It is a widely chosen subject by students, but every student faces a common problem selecting the right career path with P.C.M. P.C.M. as a field is very wide and offers a tremendous amount of career opportunities for students. THE MAINSTREAM CAREER OPPORTUNITIES AFTER PCM: ENGINEERING: The most mainstream career path any student will choose after P.C.M. is engineering. It is a 4-year course. One may go for an undergraduate time that is B.E. or B.TECH. You will have to prepare for a national or state level entrance test (example: IIT-JEE, GATE, UPSEE, BITSAT) depending on the college you prefer. Students can also do a masters after the undergraduate course like M.E. or M.TECH, which is for two years. After completing B.C.A one may do a postgraduate study- M.C.A., a combination of B.C.A and M.C.A will open up new career paths for a student. With the changing generation, everyone is relying on computers to store information and database. We continuously need variations in programs to make it more user-friendly for people; hence more and more people are getting involved in this course to serve better technology to the coming generation. One can get into the teaching line after completing M.C.A or they can apply to both private or public sectors. More qualified and its M.N.C.s can also recruit well-trained students. For admission, reputed colleges look for students with exceptional marks in their entrance exams; some of the relevant entrance exams are (NATA, JEE, state-level, or college level exams). Fees depend on the college. However, government colleges have a lower fee structure, but private college fees may vary from 70k-150k INR per semester. On average, the salary may vary between 30k- 70k INR per month. If you are an independent, you dont have to rely on anyone and work according to yourself.

B.PHARMACY.

This deals with the pharmaceutical sector, or in simpler words, the medicinal industry. This is a 4-year long course and deals with making medicine, knowing about the chemical properties, and being aware of each treatments usage. After completing B.PHARMACY, the student can apply for a postgraduate course M.PHARMACY. A combination of these may get you into an excellent job in the research sector. Direct recruitments happen in pharmaceutical companies as they need experts to make and test medicines. You can also open up your chemist shop if you have a degree or get hired in a hospital as a chemist. Admission In government colleges relies on the marks obtained in the relevant entrance test that can be a nation or state level. Government colleges have a lower fee as compared to private colleges. Private colleges charge between 60k-80k INR per semester. A graduates salary under this course will be around 30k-50k INR per month, depending on the workplace and qualifications. CAN YOU SWITCH TO A MANAGEMENT COURSES AFTER PCM? Another big question that every 12th standard student has on his mind is that they can switch their field after class 12th. To their surprise, the answer is YES; you can change your area to a management course after doing 12th with the science field. However, you might have to face a deduction of marks in various universities or colleges during admission as a penalty for a stream change. Some of the options you get in the management field are:

Bachelors of commerce and bachelors of Commerce (Hons) are both an undergraduate course.Both have the same duration of 3 years. Both courses are related to accountancy, management, and economics. However, B.COM (Hons) is a more specialized course and matches more to the industries requirements. Admission criteria and eligibility are similar for both the courses, but the syllabus and subjects vary.

SOME OUT OF THE BOX COURSES FOR PCM STUDENTS COMMERCIAL PILOT TRAINING This is relatively an interesting subject that students can opt for after their 12th standard. All you need to do to get a commercial pilot license is to attend a flight training school. The course duration may vary from one institute to another, but generally,the course is between 2-3 years. After completing the course you can either be a ferry pilot or a commercial pilot and be appointed in private or nationalized airline companies.
