Some of the associations that you will build in your college might remain with you even after college when you are in the professional world and putting the theories learnt in your college into practice. The drivers like social media, google driver information onslaught and communication tools like WhatsApp have affected almost all walks of life, but they have influenced the professional and business world in a big way. All these drivers are sharp double edged swords; it is absolutely dependent on the user, how he wields them to his professional and personal advantage. Social media is a time saver and a time waster at the same time. It’s like a car, if you have the right combination of gear and speed, the car would run efficiently and would save the resource which is used to run it, and if you are not driving your car carefully, you may end up wasting lot of fuel. The fuel needed for these tools is your time. Social media and google could be big time drainer and waster; it will eat into your precious time and would render any schedule useless. But if social media is used diligently it will help you getting the right information in the right format and will save you lot of time which you otherwise would have invested in searching and sifting through books in the library. While using google one should desist from the habit of doing excessive research, it is really enticing to have lot of material available just on the click of your mouse. But while browsing through the search result you should always keep in mind what are you looking for and what kind of information is needed for the project you are working now. It is also very important that the information and data that you are using from the internet is correct and authentic, so before using any of it, you should ensure that it is correct and authentic, one way of ensuring it, is to verify the credential of the author and website which is hosting it. Internet is a free space with almost unlimited freedom of expression. Anyone can post anything on the internet, the authenticity is a big question mark at times, but as you cannot stop the wrong data from being posted on the internet, so you should be careful in accessing. Therefore, by using internet responsibly and skilfully you can supplement your knowledge with minimum effort. Professional education is basically education about application of knowledge towards processes and methods being used in business to run it profitably and in the best interest of the stakeholders and society. You should also be socially responsible in your attitude and actions. Your college is the miniature society and you are a citizen of this universe. So, how you act and behave in college, predicts your social behaviour outside. Like in society in college also your actions and behaviour have repercussions. How you conduct yourself, how sincere you are towards the purpose of your presence in the college, how you interact with your fellow students, how you behave with your faculties and other staffs, how you use the resources at your disposal in the college, speaks a lot about you as a person and predicts about you as future professional.
