Commerce is a vast field which is filled with opportunities that teaches you the principles of what actually happens in the real World. Commerce is a field different from others, it is not about reading a textbook and implying things, it is about gaining the knowledge about everything that is happening around you. Every happening has a reason behind it. For example: Quantity Price 1 5 5 1 If the price of a candy is Rs 5/- then the quantity demanded is only 1 piece but if the price of the same candy falls down to Rs 1/- then the quantity demanded is 5 pieces. This is marketing. You see there is always a reason behind everything. The quantity rose from 1 to 5 due to the price change of the product, so there is always a reason to a happening. Basically Commerce is a World in itself, it is pretty exciting. Analyses, marketing, supply, demand, forecasting, management, research, etc. commerce is a field which includes bunch of categories holding different interests. BBA is all about management. The basic difference between B. Com and BBA are that the backbone of B. Com is Accounts and the backbone of BBA is Management. BBA is really an interesting degree to pursue. It is easy, creative and makes you involved in it. Course level- Under Graduation Duration- 3 years, 6 semesters Eligibility- 10+2. (A student from arts, non-medical, and medical can also pursue BBA). The main subject as we can see is Economics. Those students who have a specific interest regarding economics should definitely go for this one. There are wide opportunities for BEC. Course level- Under Graduation Duration- 3 years, 6 semesters Eligibility- 10+2 in any stream Course fees: 20k to 4 lakh Salary after graduation: 15k – 25k Positions: Personal financial advisor, Actuary, Statistician, Operations research analyst, etc. The following are the subjects being taught in BEC: Statistics Microeconomics Macroeconomics Operation research Political economy History of economics Bachelors of Management Studies (BMS) This course is a 3 year under graduation course which focuses on the managerial aspect. Studying on Management can be very helpful as every organisation is built on the management. Management is the backbone of an organisation, where there is no management, there is no organisation. Course level- Under Graduation Duration- 3 years, 6 semesters. Eligibility- 10+2 in commerce. Course fees: 1 to 5 lakh. Salary after graduation: 15k to 50k Positions: Manager, Specialist, Banker, Analyst, etc. Subjects taught in BMS: Human skills Accounts Management Computer Marketing management Human resource management Financial Management Management of Co-operatives Top colleges/ universities: Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (SSCBS), New Delhi Bennett University, Greater Noida Xavier’s College, Mumbai VIT-AP School of Business - , Amaravathi Chartered Accountant (CA) It is a totally different course as compared to the ones mentioned above. This course is conducted by ICAI (Indian Chartered Accountants Institute). After 10+2 the student has to apply for CPT Exam. After CPT is don, the student needs to qualify Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) Articleship needs to be done under an officially practicing CA for 3 years. After articleship is done, CA finals need to be given. There are several more courses like CS, CMA, etc. As I have said before commerce is a vast field, there are several categories in which one can finely figure out the way of direction he or she wants to pursue. Each and every course is a different path. Commerce is like number of doors, each door representing different course, if you want to indulge towards management, you may prefer BMS or BBA, if you want to indulge towards accounting, you may go towards B.
