Airport Management an airport manager may work for a big international airport or may work for a small municipal airport but normally the job duties and valuation will be almost the same. The main work of the airport manager is to ensure the safe and perfect operation of the airport on a regular basis . They generate rules and regulations for all aspects of airport business and security. The airport manager must check that all aspects of the airport are operating within these regulations or he or she must take the important actions to bring them into submission. It can mean directly working with airport employee or working with the employees or businesses that make tariff space in the airport terminal. Sometimes the airport manager may also have to work with aviation and shuttle services that are out of submission with airport policy. Apart from private airlines, some airports are owned by municipalities, states, counties, and cities. The assistant airport manager helps the manager carry out administrative responsibilities. Assistant may be in charge of to take care of employees, airport equipment, airport tenant relations, or any types of work associated with an airport. Working Conditions: Working Environment vary large depending upon the size of the airport. On biggest airport, the assistant manager has functions in an office usually which is located in the terminal building and may take on a more important role. Assistants participate in short or long range planning in a number of fields . Working hours are regular except in times of emergencies. Travel time may be required to negotiate leases with airline employee or to confer with state and federal officials. Typical Requirements and Experience: Depending upon the area and strength of the airport, requirements for the job of assistant manager vary. Large metropolitan airports require 4 to 7 years of prior experience at airports served by maximum airlines. Assistant managers must have excellent oral and written communication, problem solving skills, knowledge and compliance with federal/state/local aviation regulations, laws and guidelines is also required. Normally Airport management experience or experience that gives equivalent knowledge. Education: Bachelor Degree from a Good college or university with major course work in business, airport or aviation management.
