    School of Management Sciences, Varanasi, has organized International Webinar on Positive Mind and Karma for Overcoming Crisis: Learnings from Bhagavad Gita on June 01, 2020 from 4.30 PM to 5:30 PM. The key resource person for this webinar was Shri. H.G. Suradas Prabhu Speaker President & Trustee, ISKCON, Mumbai.

    Prof. P. N. Jha Director School of Management Sciences Varanasi warmly welcomed the resource persons and participants nationwide. Prof. Jha stated that today’s business organizations had been heavily hit by this Covid19 and facing serious imprecations. This serious imprecation also greatly affected the mindset of common people, creating lots of confusion and fearful illusion for the future. However, if we are continuously in stress state and fearful mindset, it also creates negative impact on health of individual. The CARE rating agency has indicated that Indian GDP would be expected to be around one-percent during 2020-2021. Among all sectors, the job market been heavily hit, and organizations today are laying off to sustain themselves in the current market scenario. But in every bad situation, there exist immense opportunities for prospects and growth. These times should be used by the organization to look for a paradigm shift and go into self-introspection. Soon this all will be over, and we all be heading toward a new journey.

    Shri. Prabhu Ji enlightened to the participant that Bhagavad Gita is not a book, referring to any particular religion, which we usually deemed to believe, but it is the song of god which directly comes from Lord Krishna during the conversation with Arjuna. There are 18 chapters of Bhagavad Gita, which teaches us how to live life; karma yoga six chapters, gyana yoga six chapters, and bhakti yoga six chapters. He also talked about the mind, which is always in agile  (Chanchal) state, and it is tough to focus on a particular task when distracted. The intention is your best friend when it is under your control, but the same mind will b your worst enemy when the mind has controlled you. The future of your life depends on presence of mind in the present time. One needs to tolerate urges and focus on work he/she is doing; in yoga, such is known as ashtanga yoga. One should practice detachment or should learn the art of detachment to get the most from the mind.
