“Artificial Intelligence is the new electricity” – Andrew Ng
Former chief scientist of Baidu, co-founder at Coursera, Andrew Ng is a forward thinker about Artificial Intelligence. He explained, “Just as electricity transformed almost everything 100 years ago, today I have a hard time thinking of an industry that I don’t think AI will transform in several years.”

Artificial Intelligence has two words in it- Artificial and Intelligence. If I ask you the basic meaning of artificial, it is man-made i.e- something that is inhuman- a machine, and intelligence is used to describe the thinking power of a person or decision-making capability.
AI is the broadening stream of Computer Science that talks about machines working exactly like humans. AI can create a future that humans have not yet thought of.
Example: Artificial Intelligence is all around us, I am sure you have played with Alexa, which works on NIP-Natural language processing. Alexa, Siri, and digital voice assistants are all examples of AI.
Every technology means less man work. Human work has more probability of mistakes than a machine. Hence, AI brings more accuracy and preciseness to work. The world of machines and robots makes work possible in situations and circumstances where human life is at risk. Example: a rescue operation. AI allows personal virtual assistance.
The machine in AI is created by programmers in a way that the algorithm helps the machine work on its intelligence.
So, every time a task is to be performed, no prior pre-programming has to be done.
The relationship between AI, machine learning, and deep learning is very important. All right, let us understand.
Think of AI as the whole universe that has the thinking ability for problem-solving, a machine that has emotions and understanding.
While machine learning lies under AI, where it can learn things on its own. It can reprogram itself.
Deep learning on the other hand lies under machine learning where it solves problems without human intervention.
There are three types of AI broadly classified into narrow or weak AI, general or strong AI, and artificial intelligence.
1.Narrow AI- This is designed to perform single goal-oriented tasks such as speech and face recognition, car driving, or diagnose cancer or any other disease to extreme accuracy. It is performed by NLP, which means the machine can read and process all the information a human produces. It is the most successful type of AI to date.
Example- Tesla Car
2.General AI – This AI does not just replicate human emotion instead it trains machines to understand humans. It gives the machine the power to have needs, feelings, beliefs, and an own thought process just like any other human.
3.Artificial Super-Intelligence AI — This is the hypothetical field of AI that is predicted by scientists where a machine will not just replicate or understand human intelligence but will become hyper-aware of its capacity. It will become self-aware to a limit where it can be dangerous for human survival.
Will Super-Intelligence AI be destructive for human life? Will humans be able to achieve that technology in the future where robots rule the world? Will humans become the slave of robots or will AI have a beneficial outcome? These two theories are talked about a lot.
While most researchers are less concerned about the destructive parts as they believe that a human emotion would not be able to be generated whereas certain researchers do believe that there will be a time when AI will rule. Elon Musk and Bill Gates have already said that we should be worried about the demon.
Whereas Claude Shannon has clearly said that he believes that humans will be a pet to robots the same way dogs are to humans at present.
2. Gaming- Have you guys watched the Shahrukh khan starred Indian movie Ravan, the game that was developed by the actor in the movie is an example of Artificial Intelligence and the advanced fights of the robots and humans when the robot starts taking its own decision is an example of Artificial Super-Intelligence? Though this was only in a movie, the gaming industry in the real world has advanced in Artificial Intelligence a lot.
3. Advanced Drones- They are used to travel to specific places on their own to gather information.
I am pretty sure most of us stream NETFLIX every day to watch our favourite shows and series. Did you know that Netflix too uses predictive technology, machine learning, and big data to give you recommendations for further shows?
