1. SOME OBSERVATIONS ON SOFTWARE REUSE

Abstract:

Dependency of organizations on software systems has increased the demand of high quality, productivity and low cost of software systems. Software reuse is considered to be the promising technology to achieve the objective. Software reuse does not come for free. It needs some initial investment and planning. The fact is that the reusable artifacts payoff only after the few reuses. The presented research investigates on the history, benefits, attributes, levels and impediments of software reuse and thereby aims to improve the understanding of software reuse.

2. FLOOD MONITORING FROM AIR: DATA COLLECTION TECHNOLOGY TO IMPROVE FLOOD MANAGEMENT FOR BETTER ESTIMATION AND ADVANCE FORECASTING OF RIVER FLOOD NATURAL DISASTER “A Case Study on KOSI River Flood Affected Major Fourteen Districts of North Bihar – India”

Abstract:

The well-known proclamation “Bihar is the curse of KOSI” still exists after 62 years of independence! It encounters an enormous amount of human and animal causalities, public property damage, annihilate social living of society. Every year and huge expenditure come to surmount this pre-known natural disaster(i.e. Flood). Control over situation might not be possible by just spreading money in amok but it’s essential to acquire fullest possible knowledge about the occurrence, impacts and precautions including remedial measures in advance. In this view UNDP and Govt. of Bihar jointly execute the DMP from 2002-2006. Study includes the impact of DMP on seriously affected 14 districts with the comparative study of trends and actuality and the economic viability of this DMP. Up to what extant Govt. of Bihar could optimally utilize the every penny issued by Central government of India and UNDP. This research paper gives a flavor of accuracy & authenticity of Bihar Govt., that how much they experience from post disaster and ready to handle pre disaster situation in upcoming years and redefines the actual situation (On the basis of available data further is to test a hypothesis) and suggests the LIDAR as modern tool for more accurate and pure data collection technology, which improve flood management for better estimation and advance forecasting of river flood.

3. ROLE OF SPREADSHEETS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF IT SKILLS

Abstract:

This paper describes a number of practical uses of a spreadsheet in terms of the development of skills required for career paths in the field of Information Technology. Because of the continually increasing use of computers in our daily communications and work, the knowledge of computer systems and the ability to work with word processing, data management, spreadsheet and data analysis programs have become essential requirements for many positions in different software development companies.
The degree of knowledge and proficiency required varies from one position to another based on the tasks and duties involved. To assist managers in determining the level of proficiency necessary to perform adequately in positions within their respective departments, we have developed descriptions for the different degrees of familiarity with ability to use spreadsheet. Three levels of proficiency have been defined: basic, intermediate and advanced. These levels reflect the standard steps in the acquisition and development of IT skills.

Using a spreadsheet as a background perspective on learning and development as a conceptual framework, the paper demonstrates how purposeful applications of the skills transform one type into another, en courage concept learning, and broaden technology integration into problem solving.

4.INFORMATION RETRIEVAL TECHNIQUES FOR SEARCH ENGINES

Current web search methodologies are discussed in this survey as well as open research problems.

5. SEMANTIC WEB ROLE IN E-COMMERCE

This paper highlights the role of Semantic Web in e-commerce. The e-commerce is becoming very popular with the availability of Internet connections in remote areas. But the consumer is not getting the full benefit of it as current search engines are not capable of searching online shops selling products at the lowest price. The implementation of concept of Semantic Web in web pages will help search engines in searching for required product available at lowest price. So it will help in increasing the popularity of ecommerce and consumers will get full benefit of Internet connectivity by purchasing products at the lowest price.

6. CLOUD COMPUTING : AN INTEGRATED APPROACH TO E-COMMERCE

In the new technological scenario, cloud computing plays a vital role in the change of business and IT landscape. Now a days, it generally refers as a burgeoning new form of low cost IT outsourcing and such technology providers and users are highly focused on tackling the constraints and challenges of cloud computing, especially in serving enterprise scale needs. Looking ahead, though, we see a series of significant disruptions that will be catalyzed by the evolution of cloud computing. These disruptions will become progressively more widespread and reflective, creating opportunities not only to re-design the technology industry but to all institutional architectures and management practices for the advancement of it. Providers of cloud computing, actually minimizes the efforts of the participants as they have to contribute with their own efforts and thus significant reward will be impended and also will certainly provide some initiatives for the others in the same area of the business. Thus, as a result, all business activities can be performed on cloud computing platform and will certainly get the leverage to better prepare themselves for the distractions, that recline forward. In this paper, our endeavor is to highlight and bring out some new dimensions in the area of e-commerce where cloud computing may be utilized.

7. MULTI AGENT DATA MINING FOR AGRO DATA

Abstract:

Agent technology and data mining interaction is an emerging area of Information Technology. A multifunctional data mining agent is present here to assist farmers and economist for decision making. Agricultural data warehouse collects information from lots of information sources. The information stored in data warehouse is huge and complex in nature. There are many data mining tools and algorithm that are used for purpose of information retrieval from such large data warehouses. I am proposing data mining agent operates on agricultural data warehouse and discovering information that is used to make decision. I have also proposing a model to develop multi-attribute based data mining agent.

A multi-agent approach to enable continuous updating of data warehouse is applied views as transactions are executed at the sources. Various Multi-agent models have been developed; C. C. Henry Chan, Chi Bin Cheng, Chih Hsiung Hsu (Chan, Cheng, Hsu, 2007) introduced an autonomous agent that represents the owner of an online store to bargain with customers. . This multi-agent approach applied to develop a decision support system to mine data from agriculture data ware house. Multi agent systems are tools that coordinate the retrieval, management, selection and manipulation of information. They find application ground in situations where the amount of information available for a user or the solution to a problem is unmanageably large and some way to filter it down to a selection of the most essential and useful pieces are needed.

This Paper gives the detail working process of multi agent software (MAS) to retrieve information from warehouse. A frame work to design a data mining agent for agriculture data warehouse is describe in the paper. Another important issue discussed in is concept of predictive data mining approach. The proposed approach is adapted to develop an agent for decision making. The software agent for self learning and predictive data mining are also explained in the paper

8. THE R OLE O F MOBILE E LEMENT F OR D ATA COLLECTION IN WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORKS : A SURVEY

Abstract:

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) of spatially distributed autonomous sensors to monitor physical or environmental conditions, such as temperature, sound, pressure, etc. and to cooperatively pass their data through the network to a main location. WSN have emerged as an effective solution for a wide range of applications. Most of the traditional WSN architectures consist of static nodes which are densely deployed over a sensing area. In recent times, several WSN architectures based on mobile elements (MEs) have been proposed. Most of them exploit mobility to address the problem of data collection in WSNs. In this paper we first define WSNs with MEs and provide a comprehensive taxonomy of their architectures, based on the role of the MEs. Then we represent an overview of the data collection process in such a scenario, and identify the corresponding issues and challenges. On the basis of these issues, we provide an extensive survey of the related literature.
