Prof. Azhar Kazmi interacted with Faculty Members at SMS Varanasi

School of Management Sciences, Varanasi witnessed a maiden visit by Prof. Azhar Kazmi (Professor in Management, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia) a noted academician and an internationally acclaimed author in the field of Management. Prof. Kazmi has been associated with School of management Sciences as a member in the editorial advisory committee of the Journal entitled “Management Insight”.

During his visit at the campus Prof. Kazmi interacted with the faculty members and motivated them to work towards providing quality value based education. Prof Kazmi said that the most important challenge in teaching National and International students is providing value additions to them besides the books. The teachers have to involve themselves in research activities to provide such value editions. Good communication skills, relationship with students both inside and outside the class and value based education holds the key to success.

pro_kazmi_2Welcoming the guest Prof. P. N. Jha, Director, SMS said that SMS ranks high in terms of academic delivery system, value based education and placements. SMS through consistent efforts to reach excellence has within a decade positioned itself robustly at the national and international fora. The objective of SMS has always been to prepare students to meet the future challenges of society and country by inculcating and developing value sets, skills and competencies and attitude for fulfilling social responsibility.

On this occasion Dr. M. P. Singh, Executive Secretary and Prof. P. N. Jha, Director, SMS felicitated Prof. Kazmi by presenting shawl and a memento of Lord Vishwanath. Mr. Alok Kumar, Associate Professor, SMS proposed the vote of thanks. The session was coordinated by Mrs. Pallavi Pathak, assistant Professor, SMS.

On the same day another workshop was conducted by Dr. Singh on “Building up the competitive edge and lasting Brand of a Management School” for the faculty and staff of SMS, Varanasi. In this session he highlighted on the need of visionary leadership for the overall improvement and branding of a Business-School. Moreover he emphasized on the need of good academicians and adapting the changes as per change in business, employment and social environment.
