SMS Mental Ability Recognition Test - 2012
School of Management Sciences (SMS), Varanasi organized the state level competition “SMART” (SMS Mental Ability Recognition Test) on Saturday and Sunday, Dec 8 & 9, 2012. Keeping up with the tradition of its commitment towards its social responsibility activities, SMS initiated this competitive event. Numerous students from 50 different colleges of the state participated in the competition and showcased their analytical, reasoning and mental ability.
Competition took place in form of online mode at SMS campus. At the graduate level the first and second positions were occupied by students of SHEPA; whereas at 10+2 level first prize has been won by the student of CHS Boys College, Varanasi, followed by student of St. Atulanand at the second position.
First prize in both the sections of SMART comprised of a cash reward of Rs. 15,000/- each, the second prize Rs. 10,000/- each and the third prize Rs. 5,000/- each. Besides this five consolation prizes each in both the sections was also distributed. In addition to the cash reward, the winners also received a citation and a trophy.

Earlier welcoming the guests, Prof. P. N. Jha, Director, School of Management Sciences greeted the participants of the event. Later Shree Sanjay Gupta, Registrar, SMS declared the results of “SMART”. There was an atmosphere of rejoice among the students. The Principals and teachers of different schools and colleges appreciated the efforts of School of Management Sciences for initiating such competitive event. At the end, Dr. M. P. Singh, Executive Secretary, SMS & Prof. P. N. Jha, Director, SMS appreciated the efforts of the participants. The vote of Thanks was proposed by Mohd Wamique Hisam, Associate Professor, SMS, Varanasi. The session was coordinated by Mr. Avinash Supkar, Reader, SMS.
