
SMS Alumni Association Hosts Workshop on Interactive Career Guidance Session on Banking, SSC & CUET Exams
The SMS Alumni Association organized a highly engaging and informative alumni interaction session at SMS Varanasi on 24th April 2025. The event was held at the Conference Hall, School of Management Sciences, Varanasi, and was aimed at guiding students on preparation strategies for various competitive examinations. The session was graced by two esteemed alumni:
Mr. Shreyas Gupta, Lead, Operations and Tech Support, Sabre Tech, India (Alumnus, BBA 2004-07)
Mr. Kartik Sharma, Co-Director, Career Power, Varanasi
During the session, both speakers shared valuable insights on effective preparation for competitive exams including Banking, SSC, and CUET. They emphasized key areas such as the importance of understanding the exam syllabus, adopting effective time management techniques, staying interactive in learning, and staying updated with current vacancies. To give students a practical perspective, they also discussed a few reasoning and quantitative aptitude questions, helping students understand the difficulty level and pattern of the exams.
The event saw active participation from more than 75 students across various programs, who benefitted from the experience and advice shared by the speakers. The session was smoothly coordinated by Miss Ayushi Singh, a student of B.Com (Hons.), 4th semester.

To formally welcome the speakers, Dr. Rohit Mehta presented a bouquet to Mr. Shreyas Gupta, while Mr. Atish Khadse presented a bouquet to Mr. Kartik Sharma. As a mark of gratitude, tokens of remembrance were also presented to both speakers by Dr. Rohit Mehta at the conclusion of the session.
Such alumni engagements continue to serve as a bridge between the industry and academia, offering students real-world perspectives and motivation for their career paths. The Alumni Association remains committed to organizing more such interactive sessions for the benefit of the students.
