SMS Varanasi Hosts Two-Day Workshop on “General Insurance: Career Opportunities and Industry Readiness”
The School of Management Sciences (SMS), Varanasi successfully organized a Two-Day Workshop on “General Insurance: Career Opportunities and Industry Readiness” on 24th and 25th November 2025, under the academic quality initiative of SMS–IQAC. The workshop aimed at equipping management students with contemporary knowledge, industry insights, and career direction in the rapidly evolving field of general insurance.

Over the two days, the experts conducted detailed and interactive sessions covering a wide range of themes, including the operational framework of the general insurance sector, the role of intermediaries, key market trends, regulatory developments, and the growing demand for skilled professionals. They highlighted the emerging career pathways in underwriting, claims management, risk assessment, broking services, and corporate insurance solutions.
The speakers also emphasized the expectations of the insurance industry from fresh graduates—such as analytical thinking, communication proficiency, customer orientation, and digital readiness.
