11th ANNUAL ALUMNI MEET VARANASI CHAPTER ON OCTOBER 27,2024

The 11th Alumni Meet of the Varanasi Chapter began on an enthusiastic note, marked by a warm welcome from Prof. P. N. Jha, Director of SMS Varanasi. Prof. Jha expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the alumni and esteemed guests in attendance, underscoring the integral role that alumni play as the "true flag bearers" of the institution. He emphasized the importance of fostering a lasting and mutually beneficial relationship between alumni and SMS Varanasi, remarking that the continued engagement and support from alumni are essential to the institution’s sustained growth and success.

Following the opening remarks, Mr. Rohit Mehta, the Alumni Association Coordinator, presented an inspiring retrospective of SMS Varanasis remarkable 30-year journey. His presentation traced the institutions path from its modest beginnings at Hathua Market, Lahurabeer, to its current standing as a NAAC “A” accredited and UGC autonomous institution. Mr. Mehta highlighted key milestones and achievements that have defined SMS Varanasi over the years, stirring nostalgia and pride among attendees and reaffirming the institution’s unwavering commitment to academic and professional excellence.

Associate Professor and Alumni Association member, Mr. Shambhu Sharan Srivastava, took to the stage to discuss the future of alumni engagement at SMS Varanasi. Through an impactful address, Mr. Srivastava outlined a five-point agenda designed to foster active alumni involvement and reinforce the idea that alumni contributions are crucial for the institutions advancement. His call to action inspired attendees to stay connected and actively support SMS Varanasi mission and vision.

To further strengthen bonds among attendees, the event included several interactive activities that fostered camaraderie and community. A “Memories and Suggestions” sharing session gave alumni the chance to reminisce about their time at SMS and offer valuable feedback, creating moments of laughter and shared nostalgia. Alumni-led mimicry and music sessions added a light-hearted touch, enhancing engagement and leaving everyone with fond memories of the event.

Prof. R. K. Singh then delivered the vote of thanks, expressing sincere appreciation to the alumni, faculty, staff, and guests for their enthusiastic participation. He extended special gratitude to the Alumni Association and the event coordinators, acknowledging their dedication and effort in organizing such a meaningful and memorable gathering.

The meet concluded with a networking session, allowing alumni, faculty, and staff to reconnect and discuss potential future collaborations. Group photos and a delicious lunch added to the celebratory atmosphere, and a sense of commitment to strengthening alumni engagement marked the close of a successful and heartening event.

Moving forward, SMS Varanasi will be reaching out to alumni regarding the five-point engagement agenda presented at the event. Feedback collected will guide the planning of future alumni events, helping ensure that each gathering builds upon the strong foundation laid by this meet.
