The Literary Club of SMS Varanasi, in collaboration with Amar Ujala, proudly organized an eye-opening session — "Police Ki Pathshala" — aimed at sensitizing young minds about the rising threat of cyber crime in today digital world.
The highlight of the event was the powerful and insightful address by Dr. Natasha Goyal (IPS), a dynamic and fearless officer, who engaged students in a gripping conversation on Cyber Security Awareness.
“Cyber thugs are getting smarter every day, but awareness is our greatest weapon,” she emphasized. From fake lottery messages to malicious loan apps, she decoded real-life cyber fraud tactics and warned students to steer clear of anything that triggers greed or fear.
She also urged everyone to remember and share the Cyber Crime Helpline - 1930, and stressed on reporting any scam within 24 hours for swift action.
The session began with a warm welcome address by our esteemed Director, Prof. P. N. Jha, who remarked that SMS Varanasi has always believed in educating beyond textbooks. Through initiatives like Police Ki Pathshala, we empower our students not just with knowledge, but with awareness to face real-world challenges.
The event was further graced by Mr. Birendra Kumar Shukla, Deputy News Editor, Amar Ujala and Mr. Pushpendra Tripathi, Senior Crime Reporter, who shared valuable journalistic insights into reporting cyber crimes and how the media plays a critical role in spreading awareness.
The interactive session saw enthusiastic participation from students who posed intelligent questions and shared their personal experiences with online fraud, creating a truly impactful dialogue.
The event was seamlessly coordinated by Dr. Shruti Singh, while the heartfelt Vote of Thanks was delivered by Dr. Vir Pratap, Coordinator of Synergy: The Literary Club.
