Adharshila 2025 (Foundation Day) at School of Management Sciences, Varanasi
The much-awaited 31 Foundation Day celebrations of the School of Management Sciences (SMS), Aadhaarshila-2025, commenced with a grand inauguratlon ceremony. Piyush Mordia, Additional Director General of Police, Varanasi Zone, was the chief guest. Addressing the inaugural session, he quoted the famous fable of the hare and the tortoise, saying that instead of moving slowly and steadily, it is now important to move forward swiftly, boldly, and consistently. Establishing a direct dialogue with the students, Mr. Mordia said that it is important to learn from ones mistakes. Every individual is gifted in a different way. If you find peace in studying, do so. If your passion lies in another field, pursue it tearlessly. Instead of pulling others down, hold each other hands and move forward. While our destinations may be similar, everyone journeys are different. He urged the youth to use time wisely, as their greatest asset. Avoid distractions and stay focused on your objective.
Guest of honour at the inaugural session, Prof. S.K. Singh, former Vice Chancellor, L.N. Mithila University, Darbhanga, praised the institutes academic excellence and social contributions in his address. He stated that SMS Varanasi has set new standards in every field of education, research, and organization. Prof. Singh stated that if one wants to see how tradition and modernity can coexist, SMS Varanasi is a prime example. He praised the institute vibrant, inspiring, and competitive environment, noting that it not only develops students academically but also personally.
Welcoming the guests at the inaugural of Aadhaarshila, Director Prof. P.N. Jha expressed gratitude and pride for SMS Varanasi remarkable journey over the past three decades. He stated that the institutes success story is a testament to the commitment of its faculty, the enthusiasm of its students, and the vision of those who have guided it since its inception. Jha stated that, having completed 3l years, the institution is now even more strongly committed to promoting holistic education and preparing architects of a better future. Prof. Jha encouraged students to embrace their cultural roots while remaining open to global perspectives.

On this occasion, academic, non-academic and management staff were honoured for their continuous service to the institute for ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty-five and thirty years.

The two-day Foundation Day celebrations featured various colorful programs. Competitive competitions included solo singing, solo dancing, business planning, business quiz, coding competition, antakshari, rangoli, ad, and poster making. Participants from more than 20 educational institutions across Purvanchal, including Varanasi, showcased their talents in these various inter-college competitions. The highlight of the program was a skit based on Operation Sindoor, a student performance that reflected the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, last April. The students patriotic spirit was at its peak during the performance. This emotional performance brought tears to the eyes of those present. In the evening ramp show, students showcased a masterful blend of traditional and iiiodern clothing on stage.
The inaugural session was conducted by Professor Pallavi Pathak, coordinator of Aadharshila. SMS Varanasi Executive Secretary Dr. M.P. Singh, Director Professor P.N. Jha, Registrar Sanjay Gupta, Professor Sandeep Singh, Amitanshu Pathak, along with all the faculty and staff of the institute, were present on the occasion.
