PGDM, MBA Orientation-2016
The 22nd batch of the AICTE approved Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programme and 4th batch of the MBA programme at School of Management Sciences (SMS), Varanasi got off to a sensational start on 21st July, 2016. Guest of Honor Mr. Pritish Shah (General Manager-HR, Safe Express Pvt. Ltd) congratulated the new students for joining the institute and motivated them to leap towards a promising career in the corporate world. He discussed the various challenges and issues of the contemporary business environment. He also threw light on the prevailing aspect of organizational behavior in logistic industry. He shared his personal professional experience and asked the budding managers to hone their skill in order to cope up with the industry requirement. During his deliberation on Campus Vs Corporate he focused on the skill gap and suggested specific skill set which suits the requirement of the industry.
Chief Guest Prof. Azhar Kazmi (King Fahad University-Saudi Arabia) during his address shared his association with the institute and said that said that SMS has been one of the best institutions in terms of quality delivery system and making students learn their responsibilities towards society and is continuously progressing toward the new heights. Being Chairman of Curriculum Designing Committee of several universities, Prof.Kazmi praised the updated and industry oriented curriculum of the institute which included the papers like Business Incubation, Business Analytics along with Employability Enhancement Programme.
Earlier welcoming the Guest, the Director of the Institute, Prof P.N. Jha extended a very warm welcome to the guests and considered the orientation as a holistic socialization of the new entrants through which they have embarked their professional life. He said that PGDM and MBA are the most trusted & reputed courses and SMS being a prestigious member of the top 50 B-Schools in the country always strive to create new benchmark in field of placements and academic excellence. He said that SMS is the best place to nurture their academic and co-curricular activities.
Later in the session Dr. Avinash Chandra Supkar (Assistant Professor) presented the Preamble of SMS while the current Management Education Scenario was highlighted by Prof. Sandeep Singh (Dean, Development & Students Affairs). Vote of thanks was given by Prof. Alok Kumar, (Dean Research & Development).
In the coming sessions topics like CAREER OPPORTUNITIES IN CURRENT BUSINESS SCENERIO, EMPLOYBILITY ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMME AT SMS, HISTORICAL AND PHILOSOPHICAL FOUNDATIONS OF BUSINESS, CURRENT STATE OF THE INDIAN ECONOMY etc will be discussed by the galaxy of intellectuals.
