Two Days Workshop on Mobile and Web Application Development
School of Management Sciences (SMS) Varanasi, for its students of the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme, has started a series of technical workshops oriented towards computing skills development of the students to suit the industry standards. A two-day workshop on Mobile and Web Application Development was conducted by a team from Lichens Technologies, New Delhi. Mr. Shyam Singh, MD along with Mr. Raman Kumar Jha, Soft skill trainer from this organization conducted the workshop at the Khushipur campus of SMS recently. Mr. Shyam Singh delivered his lecture on Web based application development and its implementation at client side. He focused on DOT NET Framework & Technologies and presented a framework for developing Web applications. He also introduced the concept of data abstraction and illustrated with specific implementations recommended by Microsoft.He also conducted a test based on technical and analytical skills for the students. He opined that students should always be goal-oriented and they must be industry-ready. Mr. Shyam also gave some tips to the students for writing efficient codes with demonstration in C# programming language, which has now become a back bone to DOT NET platform, preferably used in software development industry now a days. Mr. Raman Kumar Jha, an expert of soft skills, talked about the Interview skills which has now become the need of the hour for the students (whether off-campus or in-campus) as per current industry requirements. He focused on the need of attitude required to face the current challenges of the industry and also pin-pointed details that need to be adopted by students to secure a place in top notch MNCs. The sessions were coordinated by Mr. Abhishek Srivastava (Sr. Lecturer, SMS) while the Vote of thanks was presented by Mr. A P Dube (Reader, SMS). The Guests were felicitated by the Director Prof. P. N. Jha and the HOD-Computer Applications, Mr. Kamal Sheel Mishra (Associate Prof., SMS). On the occasion all faculty members of the Computer Applications Department of SMS were present including the Registrar, Mr. Sanjay Gupta. Earlier Prof. P. N. Jha welcomed the Guests to SMS Varanasi and informed them that the MCA programme in the Institute is 15 years old and the Alumni are spread not only at the big corporate houses in software hubs in India (like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai or the NCR) but also abroad including the Silicon Valley in the USA. The workshops series is an annual phenomenon at SMS that sharpens MCA students skills which makes them better placed and compensated in the cut-throat scenario. Another five day workshop on Web Application Development (RIA) using Java Technology has been organized in the SMS campus from Monday March 11, 2013 where the training would be provided to the First and Second Year MCA students by Mr. Amit Saini, Mr. Kuldeep Pandey (Both Lead Developers), Mr. Ankur Agrawal and Mr. Avanish (Developers) from Waayoo.com, educational division of Vaskoe Technologies Pvt. Ltd. spread in NCR, Lucknow, Dehradun, Chandigarh, Patna and Kolkata. The experts will be pondering upon RIA which means Rich Internet Application and the main topics to be covered in the 5-day workshop include Java, GWT, Spring, Hibernet, MVP etc., the Director Prof. P. N. Jha has informed.
