67th Independence Day Celebration at SMS Varanasi

Independence Day is the festival for entire India and celebrated to remember its freedom from British rule and its birth as a sovereign nation on 15th August 1947. Sixty seventh anniversary of Indias Independence, on 15th August, 2013, School of Management Sciences celebrated the most pious and auspicious occasion with zeal and enthusiasm. Prof. P. N. Jha, Director of SMS Varanasi, executed the activity of flag hoisting on behalf of whole SMS family. He presented his tribute towards the leaders of the freedom struggle of India. He stated that we should generally prefer goods and services offered by India Companies. In this manner we can provide strength to our economy as a result lesser Indian currency may move outside India out of such transactions. He discussed about various social issues and public movements after independence and expectation of public related to such activities as well as results therefrom. He congratulated the faculties, staff and students on such blissful and memorable moment.

Several other activities also took place including Free Health check-up under guidance of Director Prof. P. N. Jha, Joint Secretary Mr. S. K. Singh, Registrar Mr. Sanjay Gupta along with senior faculty and staff members. Cultural programs had also been presented by several students of BBA, BCA, PGDM, MBA & MCA batches. Students had presented series of programs on various themes related to Indias Independence. Free Health Camp was also organized to resolve dental problems of patients. Dr. Ashish Singh and Dr. S. B. Singh (Formerly associated with BHU) provided their services in the health camp. Health Camp and Cultural events were coordinated by facuty and staff members with Mr. K. S. Mishra, Associate Professor, Dr. Meenakshi Singh, Reader and Mr. Ravi Kant Yadav, Lecturer. At the end of the programme snacks were given to students and staff members.
