An Investor Awareness Program was organized at School of Management Sciences, Varanasi under the joint aegis of Securities Exchange Board of India, National Stock Exchange and National Securities Depository Limited . Mr. S.K. Mohanty, Whole Time Member, SEBI was present as the chief guest in the programme. Addressing the management students, Mr. Mohanty said that taking a short term approach to investment is not beneficial. He said that it is always right to understand the market risk and do a thorough analysis about it. SEBI Regional Director Mr. Rajesh Dangeti, who was present as the keynote speaker in the programme, said that SEBI is dedicated to protect the interest of the investors. Addressing the future managers, Mr. Dangeti said that you can always keep the investment with you like a life partner or a family member. He said that there is no age to start investing, so with small savings and investments, you can secure yourself and your family future.
Special guest National Stock Exchange Vice President Mr. Joginder Singh said that it is necessary to have stability in investment. He said that it is necessary to make investment plan at three levels – first for emergency, second for family and third for retirement. Stating that visionary approach is necessary for investment, Mr. Singh said that promises like doubling or more money in a few days or months are actually deception.
Mr. Sachin Utreja, Senior Manager, National Securities Depository Limited said that it is very important to start the investment at the right time. He said that investing more money will bring profit, it is a myth. Investing is beneficial as well as effective only after evaluating your need and savings.
Welcoming the guests, Prof. P.N.Jha, Director, SMS, Varanasi said that today young generation, also known as Generation Z, is very creative and self-reliant. In such a situation, by understanding the nuances related to investment, this generation can contribute more in the society building.
The program was conducted by Mr. Purnendu Kumar Patra and the vote of thanks was given by Dr. Amitabh Pandey. On this occasion, SMS Executive Secretary Dr. M. P. Singh, Registrar Mr. Sanjay Gupta, Prof. R. K. Singh, Dr Bhavna Singh and a large number of teachers and employees were present.
