MBA Orientation Programme 2024 @SMS Varanasi
The new session (2024-2026) of the MBA course run at the School of Management Sciences began with a three-day orientation program. Addressing the inaugural session of the program, the Director of the Institute, Prof. P.N. Jha said that in todays changing global environment, there are rapid changes in the field of education, management and technology, so it is important for the students to keep themselves updated with these changes. Referring to the highest standards established in management and technical education at SMS, Prof. Jha said that the institute has developed many sources to promote the practical knowledge of the students in the era of Education 4.0. On this occasion, he called upon the new students that along with learning the qualities of management, they should also use these qualities for the benefit of the society. In the inaugural session, Hawkins Cookers Limited CEO Shri Shubhodip Dutta Chaudhary was present as the chief guest. Referring to the Yam Nachiketa dialogue to the new students, Shri Chaudhary explained that asking questions develops knowledge and understanding. He said that even in today digital age, students will have to understand that identification of problems and their solution is possible only through questions. Shri Chaudhary, while referring to the new technological revolution, said that new advanced technology like AI has given a new dimension to management.
With the help of AI, works like 3D printing, model generation, development of other applications can be done in a very short time. This method not only saves time but is also user friendly. He called upon the students to stay updated with new technology.
Special guest was General Manager and HR of UltraTech Cement. Principal Mr. Anku Kumar appealed to the management students to focus on self-management and said that one can become a good administrator or leader only by making management qualities an integral part of ones lifestyle. While making the new students aware of future preparations, he said that many employment resources have become available today due to the implementation of useful schemes like Start Up. He said that young management students are expected to come forward with new creative plans and make a constructive contribution to the development of the country through self-employment ventures. Another special guest, Indianika Learning COO and Head-Human Resources Mr. Manoj Kumar stressed on the importance of time in the field of management. He said that the ability to take the right decision at the right time is one of the main qualities of management. Therefore, it is essential for future management leaders to develop quick but appropriate decision making capabilities. He gave the new students the basic mantra of a combination of purposefulness, patience and enthusiasm. He said that today India position in the competition of global market is much stronger than other developed countries, at its core is the coordination of purposeful demand and supply.
In the inaugural session of the orientation program, the guests and the new students were made aware of the introduction of SMS Varanasi by Mr. Viresh Tripathi, Associate Professor. Prof. Sandeep Singh, Head of Department, Department of Management and Mass Communication introduced the MBA course. The inaugural session was conducted by Prof. Pallavi Pathak and the vote of thanks was given by MBA course coordinator Prof. Amitabh Pandey. The other two sessions of the first day of the orientation program were conducted by Dr. Bhavana Singh and Miss Asmita Khanna respectively. On this occasion, Executive Secretary of SMS Varanasi Dr. M.P. Singh, Director Prof. P.N. Jha, Registrar Mr. Sanjay Gupta, Prof. Avinash Chandra Supkar and all the teachers and staff were present.
