Adharshila 2024 (Foundation Day) at School of Management Sciences, Varanasi
The much-awaited 30th Foundation Day Celebration of School of Management Sciences (SMS), Aadharshila - 2024, started with a grand inauguration ceremony. Prof. Bihari Lal Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University was present as the chief guest in this program. Prof. Sharma praised the 30 years of academic excellence of the institute and said that this institute has nurtured countless youth, who have become valuable assets for the society. He encouraged the students to carry forward the values given by the institute and face every challenge with determination and honesty. He said that today in this age of technology, the form of education has changed. The needs of the students have also changed; in such a situation it is important that the educational institutes keep their curriculum updated. Describing the facilities and resources available in the institute as world class, Prof. Sharma said that SMS, Varanasi is becoming famous for its quality educational environment in the whole country including Purvanchal.
President as a special guest in this inaugural ceremony, Prof. Durga Singh Chauhan, former Vice Chancellor, Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow, emphasizing the emerging role of education in shaping the society, said that today education is beyond books, which is constantly promoting innovation. He said that this institute has consistently provided these opportunities to the students, thereby preparing them to excel in the fast-changing world.
Another special guest of the function Padma Shri Dr. Rajeshwar Acharya, Chairman, UP Sangeet Natak Academy, Lucknow, while sharing his views on the role of cultural heritage in education, said that Varanasi is the heart of culture and knowledge, and SMS Varanasi coordination of academic commitment with cultural richness is a symbol of this spirit. Dr. Acharya encouraged the students to embrace their cultural roots as well as to be open to global perspectives.
On this occasion, as a special guest, former MLA of Rohaniya Assembly, Shri Surendra Narayan Singh congratulated SMS Varanasi for its journey of 30 years and expressed his best wishes for the future. He said that this institute is playing an important role in community development. Expressing confidence, Shri Surendra Narayan Singh said that this college will continue to prepare such responsible citizens who will make positive contributions to the society.
Director Prof. P.N. Jha, while welcoming the guests in the inaugural session of the foundation stone laying ceremony. expressed gratitude and pride for the remarkable journey of SMS Varanasi in the last three decades. He said that the success story of the institute is a testimony to the commitment of our faculty, the enthusiasm of our students and the foresight of those who have guided this institute since its inception. Prof. Jha said that on completion of 30 years, this institute is now more strongly committed to promote holistic education and prepare makers of a better future.
Various colourful programmes were also organised in the two-day foundation day celebrations. In which competitive competitions - Solo Singing, Solo Dance, Business Plan, Business Quiz, Coding Competition, Antakshari, Rangoli, Ad And Poster Making Competition were organised. In these various inter-college competitions, participants from more than 20 educational institutions of Purvanchal including Varanasi displayed their talent. The main attraction of the programme was the musical evening show in which the puzzle band filled the atmosphere with energy and enthusiasm.
The inaugural session was conducted by Prof. Pallavi Pathak, convener of Aadharshila. On this occasion, SMS Varanasi Executive Secretary Dr. M.P. Singh, Director Prof. P.N. Jha, Registrar Sanjay Gupta, Prof. Sandeep Singh and all the teachers and staff were present.
