“World Energy Conservation Day" @ SMS Varanasi

To mark the World Energy Conservation Day and to create awareness among the people about the importance of energy as well as saving or conserving energy a programme was organized at School of Management Sciences, Varanasi on 14th December 2020. The Chief Guest for this programme was Prof. O.P. Singh Associate Professor IIT BHU. He discussed various methods of conserving the energy in our day to day life. Thus helping mother nature to evolve which has been under stress of various pollution due to the use of the various electric instrument.

During his inaugural address Director of the Institute Prof. P.N Jha said that country has witnessed two revolutions, one is consumerism and another is environmentalism. We have achieved a milestone in consumerism but the later one is yet to be achieved. He said that environmentalism is directly linked with every individual and we have to inculcate the habit of conserving the same. He further added that economic development has propelled the growth of the country along with having an adverse effect on the environment. He focused on sustainable growth in order to preserve the energy resources for our future generation.

Smriti Jain student of B.B.A course who is also representative of Rainbow Club presented her views on Energy Conservation. This programme was conducted by Ms. Anju Singh (Assistant Professor, SMS Varanasi) and vote of thanks was given by Prof. Kamal Sheel Mishra Dean System & IT, and H.O.D Computer Sciences and Coordinator Rainbow Club.
