SMS Varanasi Celebrates Its Annual Intra-Institute "Sports Fest – 2020”
School of Management Sciences, Varanasi celebrated its Annual Intra-Institute Sports Fest from 29th February to 2nd March 2020 under the aegis of Crest Club of SMS, Varanasi.
Inaugurating the event, Prof. P. N Jha, Director SMS, Varanasi, said that in academia not only the mind but a whole body should be fit and healthy. Nowadays the importance of a fit body is growing by leaps and bounds. Prof. Jha extended his best wishes to the coordinator and all the participants of the event" He lit the torch and declared the opening of the sports fest. A pledge ceremony was conducted by Jaspreet Kaur of PGDM. A march past was done by all the participants of the event.
On this occasion Cricket, Volleyball, Badminton, 100 Meter Race, Tug of War, Table Tennis, Carom, Chess, etc., were organized in which students from all the courses participated with great zeal and vigor. Students exhibited their talent and skill along with team spirit in all the dimensions of the sport.
In Cricket (Boys) winners were team M.Com & MCA combined, Cricket (Girls) PGDM 2, Volleyball (Girls) PGDM 2 andVolleyball {Boys) PGDM 4, Tug-of-war (Boys) BBA 2 and Tug-of-war (Girls) PGDM 2, Table Tennis (Boys) Mr. Suryansh Singh (B.Com-H 2) and Table Tennis (Girls) Simran Singh (MBA 4), Badminton (Boys) Raunak Singh (BBA 6) and Badminton (Girls) Anchal Keshari (PGDM 4), Chess (Boys) Abhijeet Gupta (BBA 4) and Chess (Girls) Shweta Pandey (MBA 2), Carrom (Boys) Abhinav Dubey (BBA 2) and Carrom (Girls) Anupama Dubey (BBA 2), in 100 mtr race (Boys) Ritesh Kumar Singh (BCA 2) and 100 Mtr race (Girls) Jyoti Singh (M.Com 2), Cricket (Boys) - Man of the Match Mr.Vaibhav (M.Com 2) and Man of the Series Mr. Saman (M.Com 2), Cricket (Girls) - Player of the Match and Player of the Series Ms. Simple (PGDM 2), were declared as winners.
The valedictory session was graced by Dr. M.P. Singh (Executive Secretary) and Shri Sanjay Kumar Gupta, (Registrar) of the institute. Dr. M. P. Singh congratulated all the participants and praised the sportsmanship of the players. All the winners and participants were rewarded and felicitated in the session with trophies and certificates. The function was conducted by Dr. Sofia Khan and Dr. Paliavi Pathal. The Event Coordinator Mr. Sunit Kr. Mishra and all other members of SMS family were present on the occasion.
