Orientation Programme of BBA, BCA, B.Com. B.Com (H), M.Com, BA (Hons.) Mass Comm. courses at School of Management Sciences, Varanasi.
Inauguration of three days orientation programme of more than 500 students in three year full time course of BBA, BCA, B.Com, B.Com (H), BA (Hons.)-Mass Comm. and two year full time course of M.Com, was organised at School of Management Sciences .The programme was inaugurated by Honble Vice-Chancellor, Mahatama Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Prof. T.N. Singh. He congratulated newly admitted students for taking admission to NAAC "A" Graded SMS Varanasi an affiliated college of the University. Prof. Singh told students that despite scarcity of jobs and huge unemployment, opportunities still exist in todays economy, if the candidate or the student has the competence and is always curious to ask questions, she/he can easily land up in a very good job. But for that, one needs to really put his best in all what he does. He called on the students to study not only for getting a job but to become a better human being. Guest of Honor the of programme, Prof. Ajit Kumar Shukla, Director Institute of Managementand Commerce, Mahatama Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi addressing the newly enrolled students said that they are fortunate to get admission in SMS Varanasi.He also laid importance on the required skills to remain relevant in this competitive world. Prof. Shukla explained the students about the importance of three "I"s in our lives namely Innovation, Invention and Internet. Dr. Shukla asked the students to learn to differentiate between the needy and greedy.

Honorable guest of the programme, Prof. Satya Singh, Dean Faculty of Science and Technology, MGKVP quoted Albert Einstein, and explained students about the difference between dream and aim. Dream allows us to sleep effortlessly while aim inspires us to effort sleeplessly.
Prof. Satya motivated students by informing them about the achievements of the institute and how the same has made its special place in the corporate and business world.
Earlier, Programme started with the lightening of the lamp and offering of tributes to the statue of goddess Saraswati. Welcoming dignitaries, the Director of SMS Varanasi, Prof. P. N. Jha quoting Mark Twain enlightened the audience with the historicity of the city of Varanasi and about the aptness of studying in SMS. He said, SMS is a globally sensitive B-School as it has already initiated values and ethics education in its courses ever since launch. SMS would leave no stone unturned to provide compatible skills to its students, he commented. He highlighted that the quality placement of SMS Varanasi are indicator of quality teaching and learning atmosphere of the institute. Later Dr. Avinash Chandra Supkar presented the Preamble of SMS while Prof. Sandeep Singh elucidated the structure and format of the courses that are run by the institute. On this occasion, a book on the topic "Spirituality beyond Repertoire" was released by the esteemed guests. Programme was conducted by Dr. (Mrs.) Pallavi Pathak. Vote of Thanks was proposed by Prof. Kamal Sheel Mishra.
