Three Days Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp 2019 at SMS Varanasi
School of Management Sciences, Centre for Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Skill Development (CEISD) Varanasi in association with Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Ahmedabad Gujarat under the initiative of SMS-IQAC organized three days (Jan 3 to 5, 2019) Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp in its premises for BCA Students. This Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp-2019 was sponsored under the aegis of National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi under its DST-NIMAT Project 2018-19. The Honorable guests to the inaugural session were Prof. P.N. Jha Director SMS Varanasi. Prof. P. K. Mishra Head, Department of Chemical Engineering & Coordinator Malaviya Centre for Innovation, Incubation & Entrepreneurship (MCIIE), IIT, BHU. Program started with the welcoming of the Guests by Prof. P. N. Jha, Director, SMS Varanasi followed by presentation about Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp Introduction and its objectives by Prof. R. K. Singh, Prof. Kamal Sheel Mishra also gave brief presentation about Computer Science Department SMS Varanasi. Later on sessions have been taken up by Mr. Sushil Kumar Tiwari, DDM-NABARD Varanasi and Prof. P.K. Mishra, IIT BHU, they discussed the numerous aspects of entrepreneurship, notably risks related to the same as well as ways to manage such risk. They also motivated the pool of students to take up endeavor of being entrepreneur. This program also witnessed the unveiling of Edited Book “Alchemy of Leadership for Innovation & Sustainability” & UGC Listed Journal “SMS Journal of Entrepreneurship & Innovation” (volume 4 issue 2, June 2018). The other prominent speakers also shed their knowledge and enlightened us on following topics, Historical background of Entrepreneurship and its relevance to the present scenario by Dr. Anupam Shukla Associate Professor SMS Varanasi, Identification of opportunities for entrepreneurs by Mr. Kartikey Singh, Assistant Professor SMS Varanasi, and Mechanism of product selection and technology-assistance from R&D labs and others by Prof. A.K. Singh, Professor SMS Varanasi. This session was coordinated by Mr. Saurabh Srivastava, Assistant Professor SMS Varanasi.
Second day session of “Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp-2019” was taken by Shri Ravi Ranjan Agrawal, MD Switex Knitwear, Varanasi, he discussed about the entrepreneurial attitude and confidence which is required while facing tough challenges in their start-ups and which is keystone factor in growth of any startup business. He also discussed how to face challenges and overcome them in contemporary market. The other speakers in this session who shared their knowledge on following topics, Financial aspect of ssi-unit, salient feature of project report by Mr. Veeresh Tripathi Assistant Professor SMS Varanasi, Support and financial assistance from government agencies, banks, financial institutions, SFCs and others-securities demanded by FIs/Banks etc. by Dr. Sofia Khan Assistant Professor, SMS Varanasi, Creativity and business by Mr. Saurabh Sriavstava Assistant Professor, SMS Varanasi. This session was coordinated by Mr. Aviral Mishra Assistant Professor SMS Varanasi.
Third day session started with topic Role of communication skills to business, this was taken by Dr. Bhawana Singh Assistant Professor SMS Varanasi. This session was coordinated by Ms. Anamika Patel Assistant Professor SMS Varanasi.
The three days “Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp-2019” ends with valedictory session. The guest on dais were Prof. P. N. Jha Director, SMS Varanasi, Shri Umesh Singh Joint Commissioner of Industries at Government of Uttar Pradesh, Shri R. K. Chaudhary President, Indian Chamber of Commerce, Varanasi Chapter President, Ramnagar Industrial Association, Dr. Naveen Kumar Rai Managing Director, Bio Mantra, Prof. Kamal Sheel Mishra Professor, Dean-System & IT, Head Department of Computer Science, SMS, Varanasi, and Prof. R. K. Singh Dean (R&D) and Chairperson, Centre For Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Skill Development (CEISD), SMS Varanasi. The discussion in valedictory session revolved around the problems which are been faced by entrepreneurs and how this problem can be tackled down with hard work and patience which forms the crucial behavioral trait of entrepreneurs.
Finally, vote of thanks was given by Prof. R. K. Singh who also shared with us that for increasing entrepreneurship in coming generations the trio has to work together i.e. industry, government and academia has to come at one platform where they can together help the coming generation to start the entrepreneurial activities.
