7-Day Faculty Development Programme(2021) at SMS,Varanasi
The week long Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on the topic "Enhancing Faculty Competency vis-a-vis National Education Policy" organised by School of Management Sciences, Varanasi, concluded today at its Khushipur Campus.
In this week long FDP programme, the participating scholars shared their knowledge and thoughts in as many as eleven technical sessions. They focus on major points of National Education Policy - 2020 (NEP). In the week long programme subjects like NEP, Research, Teaching Methodology, Online Teaching and Case-study were discussed in detailed.
In the morning session, Prof. M. R. Suresh (Institute of Management Development, Mysore, Karnantaka) disucssed over the case study model and explained in detail the ADDIE Model A:Analysis, D:Design, D:Development, I:Implement and E:Evaluation. He further said that Case Study method is the best method for professional education specially management studies. He explained writing skills, teaching skills and publishing skills of case studies.
In the Afternoon session, Honble Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ajay Kumar Singh (Shri Shri University, Cuttak, Orrisa) discussed in detail about the blended learning systems. He mainly discussed MOOCS, LMS, Split Class and Effective teaching. Prof. Singh not only discussed about this new technological innovations in teaching and learning but also elaboratly presented before the various faculties its importance so that the faculties can adopt these new methods and further improve their pedagogical skills.
The Valedictory Session was addressed by the Director of the Institute, Prof. P. N. Jha, stressing on the new National Education Policy, said that our country is a country of diversity. We teachers need to map our skills according to the National Education Policy and also have to improve our teaching skills while fullfilling our social responsibilities so that allround development of our society and country in insured. Prof. Jha distributed Certificates to the participants and congratulated them on the successful completion of the FDP.
The comprehensive FDP report was presented by Dr. Pallavi Pathak. A Vote-of-thanks was proposed by the Convener of the programme Dr. Amitabh Pandey and the programmed was conducted by Dr. Bhavana Singh. Executive Secretary of the Insitute Dr. M. P. Singh, Registrar Mr. Sanjay Gupta graced the occasion alongwith the faculties of the Institute.
