The Tune Up That Every First Year College Student Needs

First year in college is a total mess. cause you are totally freaked out and confused in a way for how to manage the pressure. let me be clear, school is a different road, college is not the same. when you come to a college a lot of things changes. so, let me tell you about 21 basic things that should be taken care of when you join a college.

1. Always interact with your seniors in a good way. even if you are just asking a way to a classroom. always give a nice first impression, cause you never know "kab kaun kaam ajaye". Didi, Bhaiya is not a trend to call your seniors in college, its not school life get over it. respect your seniors and call them sir or mam.
2. When you join a college, join a club or something. it will definitely help you in interacting and you will find a step towards socialization that will later help you in widening your group. the more people you know, the more "jugaad" can be done.
3. College is totally different from school. If you have got the sylabii, stay focused to it, it wont change or get any lesser, if the whole book is coming then beware of that cause its not about studying one day before the exam, cause if you did then get ready to receive baba ji ka thullu as a result.
4. You must have heard of, that college life is so fun and entertaining, but also is serious. dont just bunk classes cause dude! there is a rule out there popularly known as "75% attendance compulsory", if you dont go, a letter or a call will definitely go to your home. I mentioned something about joining a club or something in the second point, if you join a club, then you definitely miss your lectures but at the end of the month you yourself write an application and get it signed through the HOD of that club regarding the absence in your class, so there you go! your ass is been saved. So there are benefits of joining a club.
5. If you really concentrate in a lecture, you really are in no need to study, cause dude! lecturers teach us so professionally that every word said by them goes straight into the brain and you totally understand the whole topic.
6. Obviously, you are new to some subjects that you havent studied before, so do make notes as you go home, dont just flaunt away like mujhe sab ata hai, no you gotta concentrate. if you will make notes, it will be for your own benefit. i know its tough to make notes everyday cause a time comes when you get pissed off and say, "screw it, i know everything" but believe me thats where you are wrong.
7. These days, very few lecturers share there phone numbers cause if they do that once, there will be a whole stack of WhatsApp groups pinging 24*7. so if a lecturer shares her number with you, respect that and never ask stupid, silly doubts that you can clear from your classmates, cause one bad impression can make you go down.
8. Do attend the social events, as to know whats new and whats going around you, plus all the gatherers are in the same boat like you are.
9. Always stay in touch with the notice board.that is the most necessary thing to do in college life. cause if you missed anything, a lecturer can always say that it was mentioned on the notice board. its not school guys, grow up! your lecturer wont inform you everything, and you know a time will come when you would be informing the teacher.
10. You will find a lot of bitches in your college, really mean bitches! who will always try to come in your way? even if you havent done anything to them. so be careful of every step you take.
11. Trusting someone blindly in the first year is stupidity, please dont do that or else you are gonna cry out louder. I myself have experienced, it was my third day of college when the group of girls I was sitting with called us all best friends forever, I mean jeez! third day! so lame, like seriously are you kidding me? do you even know my last name? talking about best friends forever. so beware of that.
12. In college life, you find a lot of attraction towards boys, or vice versa.its your first year, I know about the quote, "its not about the time, its about the bond" just screw that shit out okay? a relationship is not joke, if you are serious for someone then only go for it at least dont cheat or betray, that will make you a bad person, bad character, plus you will lose your image. And if you have already found someone in your life than great no attractions, no distractions.
13. Always be particular with the time and dates, if there is some kind of a notice that has a particular date then do mark it in your calendar or alarms cause baby if you missed it then bang you are out of it. they wont hear any excuses, if you bring an excuse to them, the college faculty will reply to your excuse like a pro.
14. There are few relations that will always remain in your heart, seal them and throw the key away. cause those people will be precious for time. in college, you will find many types of people, but at the end of the journey of college, you will get to know who was actually there, and who was acting like but was the real monster.
15. These days technology are so important, it was my first day of college and the group was even made on WhatsApp. its good to form a socialization circle, but dont mess up with the bonds that you share with people, give your self time too, not everything has a solution to WhatsApp, dont let the day come, when you would be sitting with your family in front of each other but still chatting on WhatsApp. please dont! respect the sentiments of your family, of people, start giving your self-time too.
16. Dont act smart, with the lecturers though, if they have said dont use cellphones it means dont use them, cause dude he/she can easily catch you while teaching when you would be smiling like an idiot and looking down. they are humans, they have a brain too! for God sake, leave the damn mobile and study for the rest 45 minutes. career ban jaiyega!
17. Another important point, a lecture is mostly 45 minutes long, hmm? tiring though. but if you seriously concentrate in those 45 minutes than dude life set hai yr! and if not then all the best to you, for you are gonna study like a mad person the whole night before the exam, p.s. you are gonna do that anyway. but seriously the content you gather is at times not even in your books.
18. Assignments, if a teacher has given you a certain date then make sure you submit it on time, and I know that you are gonna just write the whole assignments by seeing someone elses then at least submit it on time, and do not repeat the mistakes that another person has did. if in case you are late, still bring out your assignments in the class, cause at the end the respected lecturer will ask for the assignment again.
19. If you need help, just say it. A teacher is not a mind reader for God sake. Stop being a baby and tell your problem. why is it so when you have to do a prank or stuff your voice is coming out loud, but later on when it comes to doubt, its like somebody locked up your mouth?
20. You are gonna learn a lot of lessons in college, just dont go too friendly with someone you barely know cause you never know that he/she might become your rival at times.
21. Make a timetable, get a life. think out of the box. spread the needle. its time to stay focused and create a group or find a group where you could best fit it. its the time to think about your college. way to go, choose what you like, and do whats right!
