School of Management Sciences, Varanasi in association with Varanasi Management Association organized a Panel Discussion on the topic Current Indian Economic Scenario: Issue & Challenges in the campus of SMS Varanasi on 25th October, 2017.
Honble Vice Chancellor of Lalit Narayan Mishra (LNM) University, Bhagalpur, Prof. S.K. Singh was Chief Guest of the programme. During his inaugural speech Honble V.C. Prof S.K. Singh presented an optimistic view of Indian economy, which is undergoing in a transition phase. He appreciated the governments recent steps to reform Indian economy. He supported the idea that the impact of demonetization & G.S.T. can be slow but surely will be positive in near future. Prof. Singh compared that education is like a tree where roots denote primary education, stems symbolize secondary education and branches demonstrate higher education. For a strong tree, it is necessary to nourish root i.e. basic education must be taken care by society. Honble V.C. Congratulated Varanasi Management Association & SMS Varanasi for organizing such event.
Earlier welcoming the chief guest, the director of the institute & Vice-President of VMA, Prof. P.N. Jha shared his views about current Indian economic scenario and mentioned the recent events of Indian economy. Prof. Alok Kumar in his speech, draws ulterior view of Indian economy and pointed out the significance of ecological issues of economy. Prof. Sandeep Singh presented positive aspect of Indian economy and recent reforms including demonization and GST. He supported the reforms and revolutionary steps by the government of India. He mentioned that due to demonetization at least, now all the money in circulation is accounted and G.S.T. will also play significant role in enhancing the tax net. Further, these steps will have a long term positive effect on Indian economy.
