MBA I Semester students of SMS Varanasi visited Parag Dairy, Ramnagar
The newly admitted MBA I Semester students of SMS Varanasi visited Parag Dairy, Ramnagar on 22nd August, 2025 as part of their Orientation Programme, aimed at providing practical exposure to large-scale industrial operations.
The industrial visit was coordinated under the supervision of Mr. Veeresh Tripathi, Associate Professor, and Ms. Archila Kushwaha, Assistant Professor, SMS Varanasi. During the visit, students gained valuable insights into the procurement of milk from cooperative societies, state-of-the-art processing methods, automated packaging systems, and the distribution network of Parag Dairy. Witnessing the live operations enriched their understanding of supply chain management, quality assurance, and cooperative enterprise models.

MBA I Semester students of SMS Varanasi visited Banaras Beads Limited at Industrial Estate, Varanasi
As part of the Orientation Programme for the newly admitted MBA I Semester students from the School of Management Sciences (SMS), Varanasi, visited the manufacturing unit of Banaras Beads Limited at Industrial Estate, Varanasi, on 22nd August 2025. The visit was supervised by Prof. Pallavi Pathak, Professor, SMS Varanasi, and Mr. Anurag Sahu, Assistant Professor, SMS Varanasi. The objective was to provide practical insights into manufacturing operations, bridging classroom theory with industry realities.
The visiting students were guided by Mr. Mohit Gupta, Factory Head, who warmly welcomed the students and presented the rich legacy and growth of Banaras Beads Limited, recognized as a leader in handicraft and bead manufacturing with a strong presence in over 80 countries. The company operates under the visionary leadership of Mr. Ashok Kumar Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director, and Mr. Siddharth Gupta, CEO & Managing Director.
Students toured the manufacturing facility, witnessing processes such as raw material selection, bead designing and crafting, quality control, and packaging. Emphasis was placed on the company’s sustainable practices and adherence to international quality standards.
The visit concluded with an engaging Q&A session where students explored topics related to production challenges, market strategies, and export operations.The Training & Placement Cell of SMS Varanasi played a pivotal role in organizing and facilitating this visit, with special acknowledgment to Mr. D. K. Tripathi, Vice President – Corporate Affairs; Mr. Rahul Singh, Deputy General Manager – Training & Placement; and Mrs. Bhavana Dixit, General Manager – Corporate Relations for their dedicated efforts.

MBA I Semester students of SMS Varanasi visited Parle G Biscuit Manufacturing Unit at Ramnagar
On 22nd August 2025, the MBA I Semester students of the School of Management Sciences (SMS), Varanasi had the enriching experience of visiting the Parle G Biscuit Manufacturing Unit at Ramnagar. The visit was conducted under the academic guidance of Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, Associate Professor, and Dr. Ashmita Khanna, Assistant Professor.
The session began with an engaging animated presentation by Mr. Ajeet Kumar Srivastava, Coordinator, Parle (M P Biscuits Pvt Ltd), who provided insights into the brand’s development journey and extensive product portfolio. Following this, the students undertook a detailed tour of the manufacturing plant, witnessing the precise and scientific process of biscuit production—including raw material testing, dough mixing, shaping with molding machines, baking in a 260-foot-long oven, cooling on conveyor belts, automated packaging, and stringent quality assurance practices. The Parle team addressed students’ queries in an interactive manner, facilitating a comprehensive understanding of large-scale food manufacturing operations.
At the conclusion of the visit, packets of Parle G biscuits and Melody candies were distributed among the students and faculty members, symbolizing the warm hospitality extended by the company.

MBA I Semester students of SMS Varanasi visited Anirudh Foods Limited
As part of the ongoing Orientation Programme for the newly admitted MBA I Semester students, a group of students from the School of Management Sciences (SMS), Varanasi, visited Anirudh Foods Limited on 22nd August 2025. The visit was organized under the academic supervision of Dr. Anju Singh and Dr. Shubham Gaurav, with the objective of providing comprehensive industry exposure to the students in the field of food processing and manufacturing.
The students were warmly welcomed by Mr. Girish Srivastava, Operational Head, along with his dedicated team, who guided the students throughout the visit. The session commenced with an insightful briefing on the significance of process integration in food manufacturing units, highlighting its role in efficiency and quality assurance.
Students were then taken through the entire production process, beginning with the cleaning of wheat grains to ensure the removal of impurities, followed by the milling process wherein wheat is transformed into atta, suji, and maida. The visit culminated with the demonstration of an automated packaging system designed to maintain hygiene, enhance operational efficiency, and uphold rigorous quality standards for supply to various industries. Additionally, students explored the laboratory where stringent testing of food grains is conducted to ensure compliance with food safety norms.
This interactive and informative visit enabled the students to relate theoretical concepts of operations management, supply chain optimization, and quality control to practical real-world industrial applications, thereby enriching their understanding of production management in the food sector.
