BBA Orientation Programme 2024@ SMS Varanasi
Two-day orientation programme for 28th Batch of BBA course conducted at School of Management Sciences started. Addressing the new entrants in the inaugural session of the program, Chief Guest Prof. D.S. Chauhan, former Vice Chancellor, Dr. Abdul Kalam Technical University said that knowledge and discipline complement each other. Calling upon the students to adopt value-based approach and discipline in life, Prof. Chauhan said that it is very important to have a sense of priority in life. Only with the sense of priority can a person achieve any kind of goal easily. He said that in todays technological era, it is important for students to give priority to a sense of responsibility. In fact, social interest and self-interest are included in this approach. He appealed to the students to always maintain a connection with their roots, success lies and is assured in this. Prof. Chauhan also gave tips to the newly admitted students to be successful, which include using the library daily instead of searching online resources, doing regular self-study and analysing the knowledge gained.
Bharti Airtels Talent Management and Development Head Ms. Jaypriya Mishra was present as a Special Guest in the orientation program. While encouraging the newly admitted students, she said that education will be considered successful in the true sense only when it is useful to the society. Special Guest Ms. Mishra also appealed to the students to acquire other information and beneficial knowledge apart from the course. Ms. Mishra explained the importance of purposefulness in life and said that knowledge is meaningful and beneficial only with purpose.
While directly interacting with the new entrants, Ms. Jaypriya Mishra said that a systematic approach is required to deal with the change in processes or technologies. To control the change and help people adapt to the change, it is necessary to not only develop a plan but also to use innovations to implement it. Welcoming the guests in the inaugural session of the orientation program, Prof. P.N. Jha, Director, SMS Varanasi said that the institute has expertise in the field of management. Along with regular studies here, students get a lot of benefit from other academic and personality development related activities. Encouraging the new entrants, Prof. Jha said that the institute is dedicated to making you professional. He told that the library of SMS is in accordance with international standards and by participating in the activities organized here from time to time, students can prepare themselves according to the demand of todays industry. Prof. Jha explained that today at the global level, rapid changes are taking place in all the fields including education, management and technology, understanding these changes and adapting ourselves accordingly is the need of the hour.
In the inaugural session, the introduction of SMS was presented by Mr. Himanshu Upadhyay, Assistant Professor. BBA Course Coordinator Mr. Viresh Tripathi informed the students about the course and various activities. The program was conducted by Prof. Pallavi Pathak and the vote of thanks was given by Prof. Amitabh Pandey. On this occasion, Executive Secretary of SMS Varanasi Dr. M.P. Singh, Director Prof. P.N. Jha, Registrar Mr. Sanjay Gupta, BBA Course Co ordinator Mr. Himanshu Upadhyay and Dr. Khushboo Kumar along with all the teachers and staff were present.
