M.Com, B.Com, B.Com (Hons) and BA (Hons) Mass Comm. Orientation Programme 2024@ SMS Varanasi
The Two-Day Orientation Program for M.Com, B.Com, B.Com(Hons), and BA(Hons) Mass Communication commenced on Wednesday, marking the beginning of an exciting academic journey for our newcomers.
On this occasion, our Chief Guest, Prof. H. K. Singh, Dean & Head, Faculty of Commerce, BHU, urged students to develop a passion for learning and to embrace challenges with confidence. He shared his profound "AREA" mantra:

as the key to excelling in both academic and professional life. He said that the journey of education is not just about obtaining degrees but about nurturing a mindset that seeks growth and discovery.
Our Guest of Honour, CA Sudeshna Basu, motivated students to focus on discipline and social responsibility. She emphasized that success is not only about personal achievements; it’s about how you contribute to society and uplift those around you. Her words inspired students to integrate ethical values into their professional paths.
Mr. D. S. Mishra, President, Ramnagar Industrial Association & Founder, Indian Inks Chemical Industries, Varanasi, also graced the event as Guest of Honour, encouraging students to prioritize knowledge over mere information. He advised that in the age of the internet, Google can give you facts, but true wisdom comes from classroom interaction, asking questions, and being curious. Never underestimate the power of attending classes and learning from your peers and professors.
Welcoming the new students and esteemed guests, Director Prof. P.N. Jha reiterated the institutes mission to provide value-based quality education, while Prof. Rajkumar Singh, HoD, Department of Commerce, introduced the courses, emphasizing how they are designed to shape students into future leaders in their respective fields.
The event also saw an engaging presentation of the Preamble of SMS Varanasi by Associate Professor Mr. Viresh Tripathi.
