HR Conclave under the theme "Winning Entry to Corporate Corridors" @ SMS Varanasi
A one day HR Conclave was organized in the School of Management Sciences. The main theme of the conclave organized by the Department of Management Sciences was Winning Entry to Corporate Corridor. On this occasion, renowned HR experts and corporate gurus of the country, Mr. Anand Dhruv, Mr. Bala Subramaniam Sethuraman, Mr. Rishabv Dev, Mr. Prabhanjan Prasoon were present as panel experts.
Mr. Anand Dhruv, Associate Director-HR, Head- Talent Development and Early Career discussed the emerging landscape of HR and said that under the HR theme in a dynamic business environment, valuable insights and strategies are necessary to navigate the complexities of the changing industry. Interacting with the students, Mr. Dhruv said that equipping the organization with the required knowledge and technology to build resilient and inclusive organizations amidst the emerging challenges is the need of the hour.
Speaking at the HR Conclave, Mr. Balasubramanian Seturaman Head-HR, Parekh Integrated Services Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai emphasized that human capital is now the scarcest resource in todays business world. While significant investments are being made in technology upgradation, the importance of engaging, developing and educating employees is of paramount importance. He said that as per the cited rule of thumb, technology makes up 10 per cent of a business, while business processes, employees and culture make up 90 per cent.
Mr. Rishav Dev, Talent Acquisition Head, Century Plyboards (I) Ltd., Kolkata described HR as a strategic driver in organizations and said that the field is now increasingly being recognized as one that plays a vital role in mitigating business uncertainties and fostering a stable, engaged workforce. He said that exceptional HR leadership is essential to achieve excellence across all functions. Jobs have evolved with technological advancements, and the skill sets required for these jobs have also changed. Automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digitisation are not restricted to any particular sector or domain.
Mr. Prabhanjan Prasoon, Talent Acquisition Head, Sopra Steria, Noida discussed the interrelationship between jobs and skills. Industry leaders, academic institutions and HR service providers shared their expertise and success stories aimed at helping organisations internalise innovative HR practices for sustainable growth. Jobs have evolved with technological advancements, and the skill sets required for these jobs have also changed. Automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digitisation are not restricted to any particular sector or domain.
The panelists said that India has time till 2040 to make the most of its demographic dividend. There is no alternative but to embrace the power of technology. Das said, machines are also learning and becoming better. Thus HR experts have started using AI in HR processes.The HR Conclave was conducted by Prof. Pallavi Pathak and the vote of thanks was given by Prof. Amitabh Pandey.
