Sports Fest 2025 @ SMS varanasi

The four-day sports fest was inaugurated at the School of Management Sciences on Friday. Addressing the inaugural session of the sports fest, Prof. P.N. Jha, Director, SMS Varanasi, said that sports develop the will to set goals and achieve them. He said that it is necessary for students to actively participate in sports along with academic activities, so that both mental and physical health remains good. Establishing a direct dialogue with the students, Prof. Jha said that along with entertainment and good health, a sense of collectivism is also developed through sports, which is capable of establishing social harmony. Underlining India growing identity at the global level in the twenty-first century, Prof. Jha said that today in our country, sports culture is getting adequate encouragement by the government. India growing dominance in international sports events like Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Asiad confirms this fact. Appealing to the students, he said that the institute is committed to the integrated development of the students. Such sports fests are organised to improve the educational quality along with their mental and physical health.

Sports Fest 2025

The sports fest was inaugurated by a march past by the students of various courses being run in the institute. In this four-day sports fest, competitions like cricket, volleyball, table-tennis, badminton, carrom, chess, tug-of-war, 100-meter race will be organized. In this fest, more than 500 competitors from different courses of the institute will present their candidature. It is worth mentioning that the final round of various sports competitions will be organized on the fourth and last day, Monday.

The inaugural session of the Sports Fest was conducted by Prof. Pallavi Pathak. During this, SMS Varanasi Executive Secretary Dr. M.P. Singh, Prof. P.N. Jha, Director, Shri Sanjay Gupta, Registrar, Sunit Mishra, Sports Fest - Convenor, Rohit Mehta, Atish Khadse with all the teachers and staff of the institute were present.

 

The four-day Sports Fest at School of Management Sciences, Varanasi, concluded with thrilling finals and an inspiring address by Director Prof. P. N. Jha, emphasizing that sports is not just about victory or defeat but about building a positive attitude.

With 500+ participants showcasing their skills across various games, this fest was a true testament to the spirit of sportsmanship
