    We all know that we are living in a world of technology, we are surrounded by machines. Every day there is an update in technology in one way or the other. Bachelor of Computer Application is one of the degrees that a student can opt for if he/she wants to pursue a career in the field of technology. 

    WHAT IS BCA?

    BCA or Bachelor of Computer Application is a 3-year degree program with 6 semesters. Each semester has 5 to 6 subjects. The course teaches Web designing, Data structures, DBMS, Computer Networks, Coding languages, etc. 

    A student can choose a specialized course with BCA such as Bachelor of Computer Application in Data Science, Bachelor of Computer Application in Cloud Technology, Bachelor of Computer Application in Artificial Intelligence AI, Bachelor of Computer Application in Information Technology, etc. 

    WHAT AFTER BCA?

    After completing a Bachelor of Computer Application students have many options to continue, one of the obvious ways are jobs and internships. Pursuing higher education in India or abroad is one of the ways students like to take after completing BCA. In this article, we are going to discuss everything that one needs to know about studying abroad after a Bachelor of Computer Application degree.

    WHAT TO STUDY?

    One can opt for a master’s program in foreign countries like the UK, you must choose a program of your choice to enrol in and then proceed with the admission process. Master in Computer Application is the one program that will help you use your knowledge of your Bachelor’s degree.

    You can pick up a course that has a specialization in a particular subject. Some of the courses available in foreign are:

    • Master of Information Technology

    • Master of AI Artificial Intelligence
    • Master of  Cyber Security/ Cyber Forensics

    HOW TO APPLY/ ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

    Several universities offer such Master’s programs, one must apply to universities of their liking individually. Each University has its Eligibility Criteria and cutoff for admission. One has to visit the official website and see when they are taking admissions. Some universities also take admission two times a year.
    General Eligibility requirements are:

    • Average 60% in your bachelor’s degree.
    • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Exam Score: This Entrance Exam is compulsory for admission in foreign countries. The exam is divided into four sections:  Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing.

    All four tests are marked from 1 to 9. With 1 being the lowest and 9 being the highest. All four are marked individually. The average of all four is taken as the whole score. 

    The Examination fees for IELTS Paper is Rs.14000/-.

    GRE Graduate Record Examinations is for doing Masters in the US. TOEFL: Test of English as a Foreign Language is also one such entrance examination.

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    • Documents- Marksheets of 10th, 12th, degree, etc
    • Two Letter of Recommendation- LOR can be given by your college’s professor or from your previous workplace.
    • SOP Statement of Purpose- This is a letter written by one’s self to the university’s board about your purpose of joining their institute. Your motive, your accomplishments can also be mentioned in this letter. It must be approximately two pages of about 800-1000 words long. 
    • VISA- One gets a Visa based on many factors. 
    • Total 40 points= 30 Points(University admission factor) + 10 Points(Fund); Fund means apart from your fees that the university will charge for the course program you must have a certain amount of money in your bank account; this is a way the embassy makes sure that you can afford a living in a foreign country.
    • The total cost for Visa costs approximately 34,000/-

    PLACEMENTS THROUGH UNIVERSITIES:

    The typical master’s course is of 2 years; it can vary according to the program the university is offering. Some universities offer no placements from their campus whereas some offer 100% placements or sometimes an additional six-month internship with the program. One must read the course curriculum on the institute’s website very carefully.
