Both the institutes would consider and implement Faculty and Student Exchange Programmes in accordance with existing government and accreditation policy, both institutes will cooperate in the area of training and capacity building at the partner institution as much as possible, both institutes will encourage collaboration amongst faculty in areas of research and curriculum development. The other important point which is covered in the agreement is that both the institutes will collaborate in other areas as feasible on issues in relation to higher education.

The agreement which is beneficial for students and the academic feternity was signed on 10th August, 2009. This bi-lateral academic agreement with American University is due to the conscious and sincere efforts of Dr. M. P. Singh, Executive Secretary, SMS, Prof. P. N. Jha, Director, SMS, Varanasi and Dr. Amit Gautam, Professor, SMS, Varanasi.

SMS, Varanasi has recently formed a strategic alliance with UNESP, Brazil (Universidade Estadual Paulista) one of the largest universities of Brazil. UNESP is the most successful model of a multicampus university and is focused on nearly every field of experimental and theoretical sciences such as: engineering, health, communications, humanities, social sciences and arts, among others. The university is supported by State funds and offers free public higher education in Sao Paulo State.

Its high qualification level can be confirmed through the expressive number of alumni inserted in the professional market, as well as its top position in Brazilian national ranks. Unesp is a respected institution with accomplished academic staff, fully-accredited programs and strong research base. It is one of the largest and most important Brazilian universities, with distinguished achievements in teaching, research and extension services.

MOU covers interchange of Faculty and Student according to annual programmes and in accordance with rules and regulations of each institution.

Besides above, other important points covered in the agreement are – joint investigation projects, technical co-operation activities, technology transference.

This five years agreement starting from 19th Jan, 2011 is for the mutual benefit of both the institutions which include staff & student interchange programs, joint projects both at national & inter national levels for students & academic fraternity.

This bi-lateral academic agreement with Brazilian University is due to the conscious and sincere efforts of Dr. M. P. Singh, Executive Secretary, SMS, Prof. P. N. Jha, Director, SMS, Varanasi, Mr. Amitabh Pandey, Sr. Lecturer & Dr. Meenakshi A Singh, Sr. Lecturer, SMS, Varanasi.

A young, vibrant university, California State University, San Bernardino, (CSUSB) USA, one of the fastest growing universities in California, entered into an agreement and signed MoU with one of the top-most educational groups imparting professional education in India, School of Management Sciences (SMS) group with its campuses in Varanasi and Lucknow. This is the third International University with whom the SMS group has tied-up for variety of academic related programmes. The earlier two are the Claflin University, USA and UNESP, Brazil.

As per the agreement, both institutions will try to develop collaboration between their colleges, departments, administrative staffs, and professors through such means as exchanges, sabbatical leave assignments, lectures, conferences, internships, workshops, collaborative research, joint projects with business and industry, and professional development programs with all colleges and faculties. Both institutions will try to exchange students, especially in the academic departments listed above and will try to undertake joint activities with their students and appropriate units in artistic, cultural, and athletic areas. Both institutions will promote institutional and academic cooperation through computing, telecommunications, and other modes of communication through information technology.

It is worth mentioning that more than 65,000 students have graduated from CSUSB, including many who work in Southern California and make a major positive impact on the economy. Founded in 1965, CSUSB currently enrolls more than 17,500 students and employs more than 2,100 faculty and staff. Located equidistant between Los Angeles and the Palm Springs area, the university offers more than 70 educational programmes and a wide variety of education credential and certificate programs, including many that have earned national recognition. Its business and entrepreneurship programmes are nationally respected; CSUSB is distinguished as the first Inland Empire University with prestigious national accreditation for its College of Business and Public Administration.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Manoj Mehrotra, Director, SMS-Lucknow and Prof. Albert Karnig, the third President of CSUSB. Prof. Vipin Gupta, Co-Director of Global Management Centre, CSUSB and Dr. Meenakshi Singh, Coordinator, Centre for International Relations, SMS, Varanasi along with Mr. Amitabh Pandey, Senior Lecturer, SMS Varanasi were present on the occasion. The Executive Secretary of SMS Society, Dr. M. P. Singh has hailed the latest tie-up and has equated the same to the planned inching of SMS Group towards global standards which happens to be a rare feat by a B-School, specially in the Northern and Eastern belt of the country.

Szent Istvan University, Godolo, Hungary is one of the most outstanding higher educational institutions in Hungary.More than 18,000 students study in the 7 campuses of the university. In addition to conventional agricultural and environmental sciences, SZIU offers courses in veterinary medicine, environmental sciences, mechanical engineering, economy and social sciences, architecture, water supply management, medical sciences as well as applied arts.

In yet another milestone, School of Management Sciences (SMS) signed a MoU with Hungary based Szent Istvan University here at its campus on Friday 13 May,2011 through which the faculty and students of SMS group of Institutions would be benefited in terms of Faculty exchange, students’ exchange and other co-curricular and academic activities.

As per the MoU signed, both institutions will try to conduct lectures, conferences, internships, workshops, joint projects with business and

industry in India and Hungary, and various other professional development programmes.A joint project on SMEs is being explored first under the above arrangement.This bi-lateral academic agreement with Hungarian niversity is due to the conscious and sincere efforts of Dr. M. P. Singh, Executive Secretary, SMS, Prof. P. N. Jha, Director, SMS, Varanasi and Dr. Meenkashi Singh, Coordinator, Centre for International Relations, and Mr. Amitabh Pandey, Senior lecturer SMS, Varanasi.

As another milestone, School of Management Sciences (SMS) signed a MoU with Hungary based Karolay Robert College (KRF), Gyongyos, Hungary here at its campus on Friday 13 May,2011 through which the faculty and students of SMS group of Institutions would be benefited in terms of Faculty exchange, students’ exchange and other co-curricular and academic activities.

As per the MoU signed, both institutions will try to conduct lectures, conferences, internships, workshops, joint projects with business and industry in India and Hungary, and various other professional development programmes.A joint project on SMEs is being explored first under the above arrangement.

School of Management Sciences, Varanasi with its Centre for International Relations had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Emporia State University, KS,USA.

Under this MoU both the institutions will have student exchange programmes for their Business Management Students on reciprocal basis. The MoU was signed by Prof.P.N. Jha , Director, SMS, Varanasi and Dr.Michael D. Shonrock, President, Emporia State University, KS , USA.

Dr. Meenakshi Singh, Coordinator, Centre for International Relations , SMS, Varanasi and Dr. Gonjalo Bruce, Assistant Vice President, International Education, Emporia State University, KS, USA, through their relentless efforts were instrumental in making this MoU a reality. Earlier a two members delegation comprising of Dr. Gonzalo Bruce, Assistant Vice president of International Education & Dr. Dipak Ghosh, Professor, School of Business, Emporia State University, KS, USA visited SMS, Varanasi on 21st May 2011.

ESU is a public university fully accredited by North Central Association Commission on Institutions of Higher Education. ESU offers more than 180 degrees at the Bachelor, Master and Ph.D. level through its four Colleges: Teachers College, College of Arts and Sciences, The School of Business, and the School of Library and Information Management.
